Below is a detailed guide to the watch repair services we offer our clients.

Servicing

Servicing is the standard repair needed to correct a faulty watch and is essential routine maintenance to keep the watch working as intended.

The work involved will vary depending on if the watch is mechanical or quartz.

Mechanical Watch Servicing

Servicing a mechanical watch involves a number of steps to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

The watch is inspected before being disassembled. Then each component is checked for wear before being cleaned.

Replacement parts such as mainsprings are sourced, and any wear is repaired.

Then the watch is assembled and lubricated using high quality watch oils. The watch is then checked and regulated to keep time.

The case is cleaned and watch is cased back up.

This thorough service process ensures a mechanical watch continues to function effectively and retains its value over time.

Quartz Watch Servicing

Quartz (battery powered) watches typically need servicing due to the failure of delicate electrical components.

For some watches this will involve repair work similar to a mechanical watch above, where the watch is disassembled and cleaned.

Most modern quartz watches just require new movements fitted as complete units. This is more economical as it keeps the labour costs down and also provides the client with a brand new movement, returning the watch to a ‘as new’ condition.
